Miss M. O. Stoddart, Cashmere Hills, is spending a few days at Otira.

Mrs Alex M’Arthur (Timaru) is a guest at the Clarendon Hotel. Mr and Mrs A. F. Patterson (Ceylon) are staying at Warner’s Hotel. Mrs C. Sims, Oamaru, has left for the north.

Mrs Boyle, Timaru, left Christchurch last night for the north. Miss D. Salter, Wellington, will leave for the north to-night.

Miss Blackie and Miss Tolmie, Dunedin, will pass through Christchurch tonight on their way to Wellington. Mr and Mrs Maggin, Oamaru, will be passengers for Wellington by the ferry steamer to-night. Mrs Hocking and her children, Dunedin, will leave for the north this evening.

Mr and Mrs Sutherland, Invercargill, left for Wellington by last night’s ferry steamer. Mrs G. H. B. Lill and Miss R. T. Lill, Ashburton, left for Wellington last night. Mrs W. U. Webley and the Misses Webley, Rugby Street, will spend the Easter holidays at Picton. Mrs Levy and Miss E. Markham, Wellington, arrived in Christchurch yesterday. Miss Sheelagh Sadlier, who has been on a visit to Christchurch, returned north yesterday. Miss A. Atkinson and the Misses .M. and A. Gillett, of Auckland, are visiting Christchurch. Dr and Mrs Nairn, of Hastings, and Misses Phillipa and Marjorie Nairn left by the Rangitata for England. . Mrs J. A. P. Frederic and Miss Paula Frederic, who spent two months in the North Island, passed through Christchurch recently on their return to their home in Dunedin. Miss Lilian Edger, M.A., left for India on Friday on her return from a prolonged visit to relatives in New Zealand.

Mrs M. A. Wilson and the Misses M. and S. Wilson, of Te Uku, Raglan, who have been touring the North and South Islands, have left for the north. Mrs Guthrie Moore, who has been the guest of Mrs R. E. M’Dougall, .Papanui Road, has returned to Wellington. Miss G. Trolove, “ The Shades,” Marlborough, who has been visiting Wellington and Palmerston North, has returned home. Miss Barbara Gibson, Papanui Road, will leave Christchurch next Wednesday for Wellington to connect with the Tainui for England. Mrs M’Keown, Timaru, is expected in Christchurch this week to stay with her mother, Mrs C. Atkinson, Cashmere Hills, for Easter. Mr and Mrs B. A. Frostick and Miss Marjorie Frostick, Aikman’s Road, will leave to-night for a holiday visit to the North Island. Mrs F. W. Deighton and Miss Betty Deighton, Wroxton Terrace, Fendalton, will leave to-night for a holiday visit to Muritai, Wellington. Miss Shirley Sullivan, Hughes Street, Waimate, is spending a short hloiday with Mrs S. G. Shirley, Alpha Avenue, Bryndwr, Christchurch. Mr J. Crossley and Mr C. Stocker, of H.M.S. Veronica, have been the guests of Mr and Mrs P. L. Miller, of 70, Aldwins Road, for the past week. Mrs W. R. James, Spring Meadows, Aparima, arrived yesterday to spend a few weeks with her mother, Mrs A. Turton, Rata Street, Riccarton. Mesdames F. J. Saville (Hanmer Springs) and Richards (Albury) and Miss Wales (London) are staying at the United Service Hotel. Recent guests at the Hotel Federal include: Mr P. N. Jeffreys (Christchurch), Miss Caseby (Wellington), Misses Broadway (Dunedin). Mrs J. Woodcock, Palmerston North, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs Dickie, Methven, has returned home accompanied by her sister, Miss Tui Dickie. Mr and Mrs- C. R. Murray, Taumarunui, will arrive on Friday. They will be the guests of the Mrs Murray’s sister, Mrs C. N. Page, Mount Pleasant, for Easter. Mr and Mrs Elliot Myers, Wellington, will arrive to-morrow for a week’s holiday in Christchurch. They will be the guests of Mrs Crust at the New City Hotel. Dr Agnes Bennett, medical officer at St Helens Hospital, Wellington, will leave by the Makura on April 7 on a tour of Great Britain, and will return to New Zealand at the beginning of next year. Recent guests at Stonehurst Private Hotel, Latimer Square, include;—Mr Deakin (Wellington), Mrs Mathieson (Wanganui), Mr Morris (Dunedin). Misses Whitefield, Mr and Mrs Mitchell (Fairlie), Mr Aitken (Paerau), Mr and Mrs Gorman (Nelson) and Mr Maddison (Dunedin).
