LATE SOCIAL NEWS.

WEDDING. Hall—Newport. The wedding took place this afternoon at the Rugby Street Methodist Church of Olive Winifred, fifth daughter of Mr L. Newport, and the late Mrs Newport, Oxford, to Frank Alexander, second son of Mrs Hall and the late Mr H. D. ITall, Fendalton. The ceremony was performed by Rev L. B. Neale. The bride was given away by her cousin, Mr A. E. Chapman. Her frock of ivory satin was cut on straight lines with diagonal bands of reversed satin as its only trimming. The sleeves were worn long and fell in a cascade over the wrists. The skirt, ankle-length in fronts formed a slight train at the back. Her veil of embroidered tulle, with lace medallions, was worn from a lace cap caught with orange blossom buds across the head and at the sides. She carried a bouquet of deep red roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Jean Harker, wore a pretty frock of palest green satin made with a shoulder cape and net yoke, the skirt falling to the ground. Her wide brimmed hat was of felt to match, and she carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted flowers. Miss Noeline Chapmhn, the flower girl, was dressed in powder pink crepe de chine, trimmed with pink and blue rosebuds and ribbons, with a tulle headdress to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr J. Mann as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Winter Garden. Mrs A. E. Chapman received the guests wearing a forest green celanese frock and a green felt hat to tone, and she carried a bouquet of autumn coloured flowers. Mrs H. D. Hall, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart black worsted ensemble flecked with white and a black velour hat, and she carried a bouquet of red roses and fern. When Mr and Mrs F. A. Hall left on their wedding tour the latter wore a pimento red crepe de chine frock with a pleated skirt under a navy faced cloth coat, and a red felt hat to tone.
