SOLICITOR FOUND DEAD IN OFFICE.

discharged rifle ALONGSIDE BODY. Sidney Mogridge, a solicitor, was found dead with a bullet wound in his head, at his office at Kaikoura at 10.20 this morning. A discharged .22 calibre rifle was lying beside the body. The discovery was made by Mr F. H. Flower, who had called at the office to discuss business. An inquest will be held at the Kaikoura Hospital this evening before Mr H. P. Lawry, coroner. Mr Mogridge, who was a single man, aged about 37, had been practising as a solicitor in Kaikoura for many years. He took a prominent part in local activities and was very popular. He was secretary of the Trotting Club, a member of the Kaikoura Band and a past president of the Kaikoura Golf Club.
