A Recent Case.

To tho Editor. Dear Sir,—Being closely interested in a case recently before the Children's Court, I would like you to publish this letter stating the real facts. The case in question was of the two boys who were up for breaking and entering, etc. It was quite serious enough in _ itself, without the exaggerated reports which appeared in the papers. For those interested in the case (and there seem a good many) I would like to point out: (1) The boys were not wearing masks of any description. One mask was found in the pockets of the elder boy, which was a rubber one used by him as a broadsiding mask to protect his face when falling. (2) The various articles taken were two motorbike plugs only, the younger boy having Is llid in his pocket which he did not try to get rid of. The other boy was sick and was taken outside, where a £1 note was found in the morning. The revolver was carried out of bravado as neither boy could have shot a cat let alone a human being. The difference in these details may appear trivial to your readers, but to the parents of these lads they mean a great deal, as they have quite enough mud-slinging to put up with, without the papers making them appear worse than they are. These being the absolute real truths, I trust you won’t mind the correction.—l am. etc.. ONE PARENT. It would have been difficult to exaggerate the gravity of the case. Indeed, the offenders escaped very lightly.—Ed. ** Star.”
