TEAR GAS BOMBS USED IN THEATRE.
AUDIENCE THOUGHT PLAY UNPATRIOTIC,
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—-Copyright.) (Received March 30, 11.30 a.m.) PARIS, March 29. Tear gas bombs were hurled into the auditorium at the Ambigu Theatre during a play based on the Dreyfus affair, members of the, audience regarding the production as unpatriotic. Many were ejected. One demonstrator was hoisted to the stage, where he was spanked in an oldfashioned way until he was rescued by the police. Meantime, the audience was so affected by the tear gas that all were obliged to leave. Five arrests were made.
