WARNING GIVEN TO HOTELKEEPERS.

SUPPLY OF LIQUOR TO MOTOR DRIVERS. (Special to the “Star.’’) TIMARU, March 30. “If it comes to the knowledge of the Licensing Committee, of which I am chairman, that a hotelkeeper knowing! y supplies liquor to a man in charge of a car he will find himself in difficulties when he comes before the committee for a license,” said Mr C. R. OrrWalker, S.M., in the Timaru Magistrate’s Court to-day in cancelling the license of a driver who was drunk in charge of a car. It is pointed out here that, taken literally, this Magisterial dictum would have a serious effect on revenue in hotels, particularly the country houses, where the majority of the customers are arriving and leaving by motor-car.
