LODGE MEETING.

The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal City of Christchurch Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F. was held on Monday evening in . the Oddfellows’ Hall, St Asaph Street, the N.G., Bro Ayrey, presiding over a good attendance. Sick pay amounting, to £4l 14s 4d was passed for payment, and also £3B 17s 3d for accounts. Expenditure amounted to £BO lls 7d. A. letter of recommendation was received form the Loyal Heart of Friendship Lodge (Southland District), and the delegates at the annual conference presented their report, which was received. One candidate was proposed for membership. The Benevolent Committee reported upon a case which had come under their notice, and recommended that the brother be kept good upon the books. The recommendation was adopted. Owing to the" next lodge meeting ’ night falling on Easter Monday, it was decided to meet on Tuesday, April 7 After lodge business the members were entertained to a social evening bv the X.G., Bro R. Ayrey, and the 1.P~N.G., Bro F. C. Cribb. The following contributed to a bright and entertaining evening: Bro N. Carson (piano solos), Bros. R. Stevens, W. East and A. King (songs), J. Laurenson and Dallzell (recitations), and W. East (banjo solos). Bros N, Car.son and R. Stevens were the accompanists.
