■QUAKE RELIEF COLLECTION The general committee of the lawn tennis section of the United Bowling, Teiinis qnd Croquet Club, at its meeting last evening, considered the request from the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association that affiliated clubs should make an effort to raise funds for the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake Relief Fund. The committee decided, in view of the lateness of the season, not to organise a tournament, but to take up a collection from the members of the section next Saturday afternoon. Several members of the committee have agreed to assist with the collection. Club members, bearing in mind the urgency of the need, are asked to contribute as liberally as possible. INTER-CLUB FINAL. The final of Section I. of Grade B, between Opawa and Redcliffs, will be played next Saturday, at Wilding Park. UNITED CLUB. In the final of the United Lawn Tennis Club’s handicap singles, H. A. Barnett beat Dymond, 6-2, G-2. Dymond owed Barnett 2-6.
