EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. HANDICAPS FOR CARNIVAL. What promi«?s to be one of the most successful carnivals of the season will be held in the Municipal Tepid Baths to-morrow evening by the East Christchurch Amateur Swimming Club. Good entries have been received for the handicap events, there being twelve heats in the 33 l-3yds mixed dash handiea.p and five heats in the dual relay. Thr<ee Canterbury championships ivill be decided, a sealed handicap being held in conjunction with the men’s 440yds title race. The Bryce Cup 500yds Flying Squadron should provide a. thrilling finish and various novelties, including an escape from a blazing sack and the dive through a loop of flame, will provide variety. An innovation at carnivals will be live, provision of music through a loud-speaker attachment.
