Miss Winnie Poulton, Avonside, is visiting the North Island. Mr and Mrs G. Hogan (Wellington) are staying at the United Service Hotel. Mrs Robert Livingstone, St Albans, is paying a short visit to Wellington. Miss Tate, New Plymouth, is a guest at Warner’s Hotel. Mrs H. T. Little and the Misses M. and R. Little, Hawarden, are staying at Warner’s Hotel. Mrs Alfred Evans and Miss Hazel Evans are at present the guests of Mrs W. Gunn, Aikman’s Road. Mrs Ynyr Robinson, North Canterbury, is the guest of Mrs George Gould, “ Avonbank ”, Fendalton. , Mrs and Mrs Leslie Blunt, Kaikoura, who were in Christchurch for a few days, have returned home. { Mr and Mrs D. H. Taylor (Welling- ; ton) and Miss Emeny (Wellington) are guests at the Clarendon Hotel. The Rev A. H. and Mrs Warren have , returned to Hokitika after spending a ] few days in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs L. T. Watkins and Miss < Winifred Watkins (Wellington) are j staying at Warner's Hotel. Miss Mena von Lubbe, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs Geoffrey Webster, Papanui. Miss Grand, who has been spending a holiday in Dunedin, has returned to her home in Bishop Street. Miss Diana Allen has been staying with Mrs G. C. Williams, “ Te Parae,” Masterton. Mrs Thorpe, Motueka, who has been visiting Mrs W. T. Ward, Manchester Street, has returned to Nelson. Mrs G. L. Rutherford, Macdonald Downs, intends to come to Sumner shortly to stay in her house on the Esplanade. The Misses Rua and Merle King, of Waipawa, Hawke’s Bay, have arrived in Christchurch and will stay with friends for several weeks. Mrs J. J. Webster, Karori, who has been the guest of Mrs Percy Cox, Christchurch, has returned to Wellington. Mr and Mrs Cecil A. Shirley, of Papanui, Christchurch, who recently motored through to Auckland, are the guests of Mr and Mrs Guy S. Eversleigh, Lillington Road, Remuera. Mr and Mrs Gerald Gerard, “ Black Hills ”, Hororata, will arrive in Christchurch to-morrow to be the guests of Mrs A. W. Reeves, Carlton Mill Road, for the week-end. Mr and Mrs Vincent Ward, Heretaunga, who have been visiting England, are returning to New Zealand by the Rangitane, which left Southampton on Saturday last. Miss Joyce Robertson, Lyall Bay, who has spent several weeks in Dunedin and Christchurch, is now at Akaroa. She will stay with relatives there for some time before returning to Wellington. Hartshorn, of 206, Papanui Road, gave a small evening for Mrs H. Spence Clark on Thursday, which proved very enjoyable. Mrs Spence Clark leaves permanently for England next month. Bridge formed the principal attraction for the occasion, and the prizes were won by Miss Aitken and , Mrs Spence Clark. Mrs L. Verrall ,Miss Verrall (Swanna- ( noa), Mrs L.
