CASES ARE HEARD IN COURT AT KAIAPOI.

A lengthy fist of cases was dealt with by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Kaiapoi to-day. Colin Burrows M'lntosh, charged with driving a motor-car in Jones Street, Kaiapoi, and failing to give way, thus causirig a collision, was fined £2 and costs. Civil Cases. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following:—Blackwell’s, Ltd., v. L. Patterson, £l6 14s lid; same v. L. Guthrie, £5 2s Id; same v. R. M’Knight, £1 15s 9d; same v. A. M’Leod, £4 14s 9d; same v. J. Honeybone, £2 13s 6d; same v. R. J. Ball, £2 16s 6d; same v. D. Wright, £4 17s 7d; H. Becks v. G. KeUy, £3. Judgment Summonses. W. M. Taituha was ordered to pay C. B. Higgs the sum of £7 9s forthwith, in default seven days’ imprisonment, warrant to be suspended so long as defendant pays 5s a week. J. Tregerthen, jun, was ordered to pay the Kaiapoi Borough Council £6 13s 6d forthwith, in default six days’ imprisonment warrant to be suspended so long as he pays 10s a week. W. Bigwood was ordered to pay 11. M’Millan £3 11s, in default three days’ imprisonment, warrant to be suspended so long as defendant pays th 4 sum of 3s a week.
