Th* visitors batted for 24 minutes: and declared, adding 52-runs. Decaires waa vigorous. His full-time was 71 minutes. He hit one sixer and six fours. The time of the innings was 171 minutes. On the whole Victoria gave an indifferent display even though .none of the regular bowlers were used for some time. The only interest Jn the closing stages was as to whether the Victorians would hold the fort till stumps.
