ENGAGEMENTS.
The engagement is announced of Helen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Leslie Hunt, Richmond Hill, to Donald Cameron Wilson, of Ashburton, fourth son of Mrs Isaac Wilson, “Brantholme , Sumner. The engagement is announced of Vivienne Frances, second daughter of Dr and Mrs J. Restall Thomas, Christchurch. to Alan William, only son of Mr and Mrs G; W. C. Smithson, Christchurch. .
Mr and Mrs A. E. Lawry, Napier, are staying at Warner’s Hotel. Mrs T. L. Cowlishaw and Miss Joan Lee, Fendalton, will leave this week to visit Mrs J. F. Craeroft Wilson, Hawarden. Sir Francis Colchester-Wem} r ss, K.8.E., and Lady Colchester-Wemyss, England, are in Christchurch, and are staying at Warner’s Hotel. Mrs G. W. C. Smithson and Misses Neroli and Betty Smithson, Rossall Street, will leave on Saturday to spend a holiday in Timaru. Mrs 11. Wilkinson and her small daughter, Margaret, who were in Christchurch for the Robilliard-Leckner wedding. have returned to Kaikoura. Mrs W. Jagger has accompanied them. Mr and Mrs E. J. Cordner and their two daughters, Rossall Street, who have been visiting Mr and Mrs Hugh Houghton, Glen Wye, North Canterbury, returned to Christchurch last evening. Mrs J. G. Denniston, who with her two boys is staying with her mother, Lady Bell, Lowry Bay, Wellington, will arrive in Christchurch to join her husband on January 15, after which they will spend some weeks at Fendalton. Mr and Mrs Fred Lomas, who are at present visiting friends in Dunedin, will arrive in Christchurch to-morrow, and will be the guests of Mr and Mrs M. S.
