REFORM CANDIDATE FOR DUNEDIN SOUTH.
MR D. C. CAMERON HAS BEEN ASKED TO STAND. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 0. A representative gathering of electors in Dunedin South electorate waited upon Air D. C. Cameron to-day ■with a request that he should allow himself to be nominated in the Reform Party interests at next general election. Mr Cameron stated his willingness to place himself in the hands of the party supporters, and assured the deputation that whether selected as official Reform candidate or not, his efforts would be directed towards returning the party to power. Mr Cameron was bom in Dunedin, and has been a resident of St Kilda for the past twenty-six years. He served for a number of years as a councillor, and is an ex-Mayor of St Kilda. He takes a keen interest in educational affairs, and has served on the Musselburgh School Committee for twenty years, for ten of which he was chairman. He is also a past president and life Inember of the School Committees Association. He is prominent and popular in bowling circles, being a member of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Council and ex-president of the Dunedin Bowling Centre. He has been actively connected since boyhood with the firm of Reid and Gray, Ltd., and his connection with matters industrial has been such as to bring him in close contact with workers, while at the same time giving him a due appreciation of the difficulties of the primary producer. Ilis candidature promises to be well supported.
