"THE PAINTED ANGEL” IS BOOKED FOR MAJESTIC.
To-night will witness the final screening' of " The Social Lion.” Mailed as “(he year’s surprise sensation," " The Painted Angel.” First National and Vitaphone’s all-talking dramatic c-omedy, will be presented at the Majestic on Monday next. Billie Dove and Edmund Lowe are co-starred in this brilliant production, which “ tells the truth about women ” and shows how a famous society beauty finds that love has made her the biggest fool of all. Billie Dove’s role in "The Painted Angel” is a radical departure for this talented screen beauty. In many moments she is seen in a comedy mood, sometimes gay and reckless, sometimes taking part in a " mauve decade ” travesty, grotesquely dressed. The Vitapl-.one records her speaking and singing voice perfectly and her rendering of a song in parody is one of the most delightfully humorous scenes yet recorded in talking pictures. The box plans are at The Bristol Piano Company-.
