Murray-Aynsley patronised the plough. Spoon did seven furlongs in lmin 31sec, an attractive effort, while Meprisant pleased greatly with a mile J in lmin 43 2-ssec. Footfall ran a mile ! and a quarter, travelling freely all the ' way and finishing well. Later in the morning Kakara registered lmin 17 2-ssec for six furlongs. These four are in capital condition for the Dunedin and Waikouaiti meetings Sleipner reeled off six furlongs on the plough in lmin 17sec, and did it well. He should pay his way on the West Coast. ' Amorist occupied lmin 34sec for seven furlongs on the plough. He is in good order for southern hurdles races. Beau Geste did a couple of rounds on the plough at half-pace, sprinting down the straight each time. Troilus was given a similar task. Audience ran half a mile on the grass in 50sec, a useful effort. Homecoming beat Fresh Breeze very easily over six furlongs on the grass in lmin 18 l-ssec. Homecoming is very well at present. Tariff registered 50sec for half a mile on the grass. Miss Mercia reeled off six furlongs on the grass in lmin 15 3-ssec. She show’ed great brilliancy, and finished well. This mare should pay her way on the West Coast. Pangolin beat Gay Nita over five furlongs on the grass in lmin 3 4-ssec. The hurdler is galloping In his best style. Lorette sprinted a mile on the grass in 50 3-ssec, finishing strongly. Charmeuse occupied 50 l-ssec for half a mile on the grass, and was going well at the end.
