nPHE REMOVAL of insanitary -*■ premises has at last crept into the agenda paper of the City Council, and not before its time. The owners of many of these premises are speculators, and a wholesale demolition of old and insanitary dwellings would give a healthier tone to the building figures of the city, which have slumped so badly during the depression. There is no sound reason why hard times should give a new lease of life to insanitary dwellings.
