SECOND MAN CHARGED WITH RECEIVING GOODS. That on dates between April 5 and December 5. 1930, he did steat_ boots and shoes of a total value of £SO, the property of Pannell’s, Ltd., was the charge preferred against Charles Benjamin Bowden, aged 45. in the Magistrate's Court this morning. On the application of Chief-Detective Carroll a remand until December 18 was granted by- Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., accused's counsel, Mr Bums, concurring. Bail was allowed in the sum of £IOO. with, one surety of £IOO. The same boots and shoes were responsible for Laurence Gladstone Clark, aged 45, appearing before Mr Mosley. -The charge was that Clark had received shoes and boots from Charles Benjamin Bowden on dates between April 5 and December 5, knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained. In this case a remand until December 18 was made, with bail at £IOO and one surety of £IOO. Dr Haslam appeared for accused. Chief-Detective Carroll said that it was alleged that the man who was charged with the theft of the footwear had been selling the goods to Clark, who had disposed of them.
