SIR OTTO BEIT, FAMOUS SOUTH AFRICAN, DIES.

(Received December 8. 1.5 p.m.) LONDON, December 7. - is announced of Sir Otto Beit, famous founder of the Beit Memorial Fellowship for Medical Research. Sir Otto Beit’s death occurred on his sixty-fifth birthday. He was born in Cape Town, and was identified with the British South Africa Company, of which he was a director. He was also a director of Rhodesia Railways, Ltd., was a member of the Governing Body of the Imperial College of Science and Technology and a trustee of the Rhodes Trust. His heir is a son, Alfred Lane, who is twenty-seven years of age.
