MARION RUTH JOINS THE ARMY.

grandchild of general HIGGINS IS RECRUIT. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received December 8, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, December 7. The Salvation Army’s youngest recruit is Marion Ruth, the three-months-old eleventh grandchild of General Higgins. She joined up to the accompaniment of hymns and prayers at Wimbledon Citadel. She played cheerfully with her grandfather's as he asked the congregation to keep her from intoxicants, tobacco, finery, wealth, hurtful reading and worldy acquaintances. During the closing prayers she burst into tears, and was handed over to her mother.
