CONCERT GIVEN TO AID CHURCH FUNDS.

Members of the Christchurch Glee Club visited Prebbleton last week, when they gave an excellent concert in aid of the Anglican Church funds. The audience enjoyed every item of the varied programme. At the conclusion of the concert, the vicar, the Rev Hubert Jones, conveyed the thanks of the church people to those who had provided the entertainment. The ladies entertained the performers to supper. The programme was as follows:—Part song, “ A Wet Sheet and a Flowing Sea” (Lloyd); piano solo, Mr Saunders; song, Mr Richards; shanteys, “ Blow the Man Down,” “ Let the Bulgine Run”; violin solo, Mrs G. Bate; song, Mrs Lorimer; part song, “O Sanctissima ”; song, Mr Russell Sumner ; song, Mr Lake; part song, “ The Frog” (Newton); shanteys, “Heave Away,” “ Shenandoah ”; song, Mr J. Hinton; violin solo, Mrs G. Bate; part song, “Good-night”; song, Miss Lorimer; song, Mr F. Bullock; part songs, “Swedish Folk Song” and “Rolling Down to Rio.”
