KEEN COMPETITION AT THE SALE TO-DAY. Per Pres*2 Association. NAPIER, December 3. A slight rise on the Auckland levels was shown at the first Xapier wool sale to-day. A catalogue of 19,000 bales was offered. There was exceedingly keen competition, especially from the Continent, with Bradford bidding freely. The best offer up till noon was for super “comeback,” which was passed in at Sid. First grade “comeback’’ was passed at Sd. Super hogget realised 7id. First grade cross-bred ranged generally from 4£d to 53d. The best price for first grade pieces was 6d.
