NO HUMBUG AT THE CONFERENCE.

MR FORBES WELCOMED BY BELFAST PEOPLE.

(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received December 3. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, December 2. Mr G. W. Forbes was received in Belfast by Lord Craigavon and members of the Cabinet, and they lunched as guests of the Chamber of Commerce. Queen’s University conferred the degree of Doctor of Laws on Mr Forbes. Replying to the civic welcome at Belfast, Mr Forbes said that he himself and his colleagues at the Imperial Conference had not put up anything which might be termed humbug. They did not want to do anything which might be regarded as giving an advantage to New Zealand to the disadvantage of the British people.
