Next tVednesda}' and Thursday, December 3 and 4, a Grand Carnival, arranged by the parishioners of St Luke’s Church, will be held in the Art Gallery. The carnival will be opened by the Hon Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C., on Wednesday, December 3, at 2.30 p.m., and will be open from 2.30 to 10 p.m. each day. The stallholders have worked exceedingly hard during the past months, and the gaily decorated stalls will, be abundantly stocked with goods of every description. Realising the nearness of the festive season, Christmas presents, attractive yet inexpensive, have been specially catered for. A feature of the carnival will’ be a series of thirty-minute entertainments, which will be held each afternoon and evening. Dance recitals, fencing displays, vocal and instrumental concerts will be given by leading Christchurch artists, who have given their services in aid of replacing St Luke’s old schoolroom. Special attention has been paid to the catering department, and refreshments will be available at all hours at reasonable prices. Local treatment is the logical treatment for a cold. Inhale “NAZOL”!
