THE FIRST GREAT DANE RACE MEETING was held at send Manor, Ripley, Surrey, on September 13. This new pastime should become very popular. A large open space is marked in squares, each large enough for a dog to stand in, and the dog competitors are moved up the squares in response to numbers turned, up by throws of the dice.
