RAILWAY NOTICES, RACES AT ASHBURTON. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6. FARES. JJOLIDAY EXCURSION tickets will be issued to Ashburton from Christ-church-Timaru-Springburn and intermediate stations on direct line of route by trains arriving Ashburton up to 12.30 p.m. on December 6, available for return until December 8. Special excursion tickets to Ashburton, 14s 6d first class, and 10s 2d second class (including Is 6d course admission) will be issued from Christchurch by the 10.5 ami. special train on December 6, available for return until December S. Excursion tickets will not be available by the 8.35 ami. express from Christchurch, nor by the 6.5 p.m. express from Ashburton on December 6. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS. CHRISTCHURCH - ASHBURTON. Special passenger train taking passengers from Christchurch, Addington, Sockburn, Templeton, Rolleston, Dunsandel, and Rakaia only leaves Christchurch 10.5 a.m., arriving Racecourse Siding 11.45 a.m. Return train taking passengers for Rakaia, Dunsandel, Rolleston, Templeton, Sockburn, Addington and Christchurch only leaves Ashburton 4.50 p.m., Racecourse Siding 5.20 p.m., arming Christchurch 7.6 p.m. Passengers from stations at which the special train will not stop must travel by usual 7.10 a.m. Christchurch-Ashbitr-ton train (which will stop at .Racecourse Siding to set down) and return by usual 3.50 p.m. Ashburton-Christ-church train (Racecourse Siding 3.55 1 p.m.), or by special mixed train leaving Ashburton 6.15 pm.^ ! Special train stopping w r here required, .excepting at Rakaia, to lift racehorses [leaves Christchurch 8.10 a.m., and arrives Ashburton 10.52 a.m. Horses from Rakaia must be loaded for the usual morning train for Ashburton leaving Rakaia 8.56 a.m. Special return train stopping where required to set down passengers and horses returning from Races leaves Ashburton 6.15 p.m. Should the Races be postponed the special trains will NOT run. ASHBURTON-TIMARU. Usual 4.31 p.m. train for Timaru will leave Ashburton 5.25 p.m. SPRINGBURN BRANCH.
