BANKERS ARRANGE BACKING FOR LOAN

WILL ENSURE SUCCESS OF CONVERSION ISSUE. (United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received November 18, 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, November 18. The executive heads of the principal banks of the Commonwealth, under the chairmanship of Sir Robert Gibson, met to consider plans to ensure the success of the Conversion Loan of £28,000,000. The bankers later met Mr Lyons and Mr Hogan, Premier of Victoria. Mr Lyons said that the meeting discussed the backing of the banks which would be necessary for the success of the loan. The bankers will meet again to-day.
