ST LUKE’S CARNIVAL.

At a meeting of the executive of St Luke’s Carnival, Archdeacon F. N. Taylor presided. The chairman reported that Sir Heaton Rhodes had promised to open the carnival on Wednesday, December 3, at 2.30 p.m. The entertainment committee reported that an orchestra under the direction of Mr F. L. Woledge would play at intervals during the two days of the carnival, and short entertainments would be given by the Cathedral Gleemen, Miss Lucy Cowan and the All Arts Club, Miss Mulvany Gray and Miss Menzies, Mr Laurence Campbell and others. It was reported that several preliminary socials and other entertainments had been postponed on account of the lighting restrictions, but a hard-up social and a bridge party had brought in respectively £4 Gs 3d and £5 2s 6d for the fund.
