CHILDREN'S FANCY DRESS CARNIVAL HELD.

i A children’s plain and fancy dress carnival was held in the St Albans school grounds on Saturday afternoon. The Municipal Band was in attendance. Prizes for fancy dresses were awarded as follow: Senior Girls.—Best fancy dr<ess—Joyce Petch (Eastern Lady) 1, Helen Forg-ie (Old English) 2. Humorous drees—Dorothy King (Dr Happy Fat) 1, Joan Lawrey (Cat) 2. Cheapest dress—Betty Waters (Biscuits) 3, Joan Wilson (Brown Paper Dress) 2.
