The annual meeting- of the Papanui a V d } Vrta in the band loom, Colombo Street. The report showed that the band had had a successful year, and the financial position was very satisfactory. The followingofficers were elected for the year:Patron, Mr R. El. M’Dougall; president, Mr Rickerby; conductor, Mr J. Dephoff; chairman, Mr H. Cook; trustees. Messrs J. Dephoff, E. Shaw and <i. Surrock* drum-major, Mr C. Dellow; sergeant Mr C. Thom, jun.; corporal, Mr J. Carson: lance-corporal, Mr R. Robinson; custodian, Mr H. Harris; librarian, Mr C. Dephoff, jun. The resignation of the secretary, Mr Tapper, was accepted with regret, and he was elected a life member.
