YE OLDE TYME PARTYE HELD BY TOC H SOCIETY.

Last night the Jelicoe Hall was transformed into an old-fashioned garden with decorations of camellias, primus blossom and yew trees when “Ye Old Tvme Partye” was held by the Toe H Society in aid of the funds. Charming costumes and frocks depicting characters in Dickens’s novels dominated the scene. In one corner under a large umbrella several helpers in crinolines sold variegated balloons and baskets of sweets. An added attraction was a quadrille danced by the following pupils, who had been specially trained by Miss Mulvany Gray:—Misses H Mulvany Gray, Mary Menzies, Phyllis Francis, and Anne Cooper, Messrs Noel Gard’ner, Tindall Harman, Basil Smythe and Grahame Robinson. “Here we Come Gathering Nuts in May” and novelties consisting of confetti balls and balloons were but a few of the other attractions. The committee who had worked to make the dance a success were:—Mrs Owen Williams, Mrs E. C. Crosse, Mrs W. J. Sim, Miss Mulvany Gray, Messrs W. H. Prescott and D. S. Turnbull, secretary. Seymour’s Orchestra provided spirited music. Supper was served.
