SHORTAGE WOULD BE SERIOUS FOR THE CITY.
Christchurch would be faced witl a serious situation if there was a shortage of electricity. The sewerage system of Christchurch and the suburbs depends almost entirely upon the electricity supply for power for the pumping stations, and if there were insufficient power to drive the motors in these stations the system might be disorganised, said a member of the Drainage Board yesterday.
