Boxing For Boys.
A Woman s View.
SCHOOL that leaves boxing for boj's out of its sports programme neglects one of the best forms of sport, and the mother who discourages a boy from taking up boxing does him a disservice.
For the boy who boxes knows that he gets his blows fairly, and he grows into a sturdy hardihood that is the essence of manliness.
In this life it is something to learn to give and take hard knocks without ill-will, and often the first lessons in self-discipline are learned in voluntary denial and temperateness in preparation for a school boxing competition. For this cause will a boy undergo hard training. B-ut he does it so much more cheerfully when he knows he has the good wishes of his parents with him. That makes him proud to be a clean sport. B.E.S.
