Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 29. The Auckland provincial amateur boxing championships concluded last night. Results of finals are:— Fly weight—F. Bruno (7st 61b) beat C. Grimmers (7st oSlb). Bantam weight—J. M’Laughlan <7st 12ilb) beat If. Porteous (Sst Mb). Feather weight—R. Purdie (Sst 11 Alb) knocked out W. Hogg (Sst Bilb>. Light weight—R. B. Martin (9st 131 b) beat F. Lindesay (9st 13Jlb). Welter weight—D. Cleverley (9st 13Alb) beat C. M’Knight (lOst 51b). Middle weight—ll. Neale’ (list 41b) beat G. Taylor (list Hlb). Light heavyweight—R. P. Cowan (list 121 b) knocked out J. H. Shadbolt (list 9!b). Heavy weight—P. M’Carthy (12sl Sib) beat C. Painter (12st 91b). A special medal was awarded to W. Hogg for his showing in both the welter and middle weight classes. P. M’Carthy ‘(heavy) was the only champion to retain his title.
