GOLD INGOTS VALUED AT £3OO FOUND IN LOG.

PERTH, July 15. Three ingots of gold weighing 7f13 ozs and estimated to be worth £3OO were found on Sunday in a hollow log in a wood heap in the back yard of Mr John Dundas, 70, of Wembley Park, a suburb of Perth. The log in which the gold was found was taken out of the ground in September and had lain there for years, probably before the house was built on the block, which is in a comparatively new district. Dundas took the gold to the police, who have lodged it at the Mint for safe custody for three months, awaiting a claimant. At the end of that period, if no claimant appears, it will l?e returned to the finder. Detectives think that the gold was stolen years ago, and secreted in the log by the thief.
