RUGBY FOOTBALL.
ling is sound, and his fielding, kicking and rush stopping well up to standard. O’Brien was fairly good as half, but apart from those two the backs were mediocre, to say the least. The Merivale side was disarranged a little. Seymour at half was a disappointment, and Rich was only average at first five-eighths. Outside them, the rest of the backs were good. Norrie on the left wing made several mistakes, but on the whole played a sound game. Dorreen was decidedly good on the right wing, scoring a couple of excellent tries. Flewellyn made a mistake or two, but showed that he is a decidedly useful centre. Rhodes at full* back was competent. Oliver was the best back on the field, with the possible exception of Edmonds. Oliver was quick to see an opening, and his handling and defence were sound. In the forwards, Kirkland, Serra, Rountree and Francis went well. Walker was playing at wing forward, after a spell, and he also went well. TOWN V. COUNTRY TEAMS HAVE BEEN SELECTED. The annual Town v.
