League Crowds.

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—Commenting on the League game in Australia, “a prominent follower of the code’* in yesterday’s “Star,” when asked by one of your representatives to comment on the test game in which New Zealand was defeated by 29 points to 2, stated that the code in New South Wales drew huge crowds. The “Sydney Sun” states that there were 25,000 at the match—that is, at a test match. Either the # League followers in Australia knew what* sort of exhibition of football to expect from a New Zealand League team and stayed away, or else such huge crowds as your League official tried to make out attended, do not actually witness League games over there. To state that 25,000 was a huge crowd is to say the least, absurd. Of course this year may be different from others years over there, and it may be that such huge crowds are not attending.—l am, etc., DOUBTFUL.
