A. AND P. ASSOCIATION EXPRESS SYMPATHY.

Reference to the death of Sir Joseph Ward was made by the President of the A. and P. Association, Mr L. R. C. Macfarlane, this afternoon prior to the meeting.

“Sir Joseph,” said Mr Macfarlane, “figured most importantly in the public life of this country over a long period of years. No doubt many of us have disagreed with him on questions of policy, but we can all recognise the work in the public interest carried out over practically half a century. I -move that this meeting records its sympathy with the family in their bereavement.”

Members stood in silence as a mark of respect. ____________
