INFANT DROWNED IN TRENCH FULL OF WATER.
Per Press Association. HAMILTON, July 9. William Rowland Hammond, aged one year and nine months, was drowned at a Public Works camp about three miles from Raglan yesterday. He fell into a trench which had been dug for use as a rubbish tip and was filled with water. The mother is employed as a cook at the camp.
