REMOVE TOUR HATS!

The Town Clerk (Mr J. S. Neville), the Deputy Mayor (Cr H. T. J. Thacker) and his chauffeur were the central figures in an amusing incident at the Traffic Court this morning. The three of them had donned their hats and were about to leave the Court when the clerk called out: “Remove your hats!” No notice was taken and the clerk repeated the command slightly louder. The chauffeur turned and said “yes!” but did not remove his hat. “Remove your hats! ” shouted the Court orderly. The chauffeur obeyed promptly, but the Deputy-Mayor and the Town Clerk paid no heed and passed out of the Court. Everyone enjoyed the incident.
