MONEY TAKEN FROM LETTERS.

COURT WILL CONSIDER POSTMAN’S OFFENCE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. June 27. William George M’Lean, a postman with ten years’ service, and a married man with two children, pleaded guilty to-day to the theft of letters containing money and postal notes and a cheque, between February 10 and June 20 this year It was stated that the postal notes and the cheque were destroyed by accused. There were seven charges. The Magistrate (Mr Page) remanded the case till Tuesday in order that he could consider it.
