Henery pleaded guilty to a charge oi bigamy and was committed foi senThe evidence showed that when nineteen years old, on leave irom war sez vice, he married at Durham England, in 1918, under the name of Howard. He and his wife later came to New Zealand, living at Gore and Invercar gill. There were six children alive. He left her in November and in April of this year married another girl in Dunedin, signing his name as John William Henry.
