MANY BEDS PROVIDED AT ADDINGTON HOME.

To-day is the end of the half-yearly period at the Salvation Army Men’s Home, Addington, and it is interesting to note the pumber of meals and beds supplied at the Home during that time. During this period 16,890 beds have been provided and 46,423 meals supplied. In the month of June 3083 beds and 8308 meals were supplied. Speaking to a reporter this morning, Staff Captain G. Dry, the officer in charge, said that accommodation for 120 men was provided last night. So taxed was the accommodation that eight had to be accommodated on the floor of the sitting-room. Mattresses were urgently needed, and some single stretchers could be made use of if they were available. So great had been the demand on the resources of the estab lishment during the past few days that 150 yards of sheeting had to be purchased as well as six dozen extra towels.
