SUMNER BOWLING CLUB HAS ANNUAL MEETING.
The eighteenth annual meetirg of the Sumner Bowling Club was held in the pavilion on Wednesday evening, Mr T. F. Chambers presiding. The prizes were presented to the winners by the president. The election of officers resulted as follows.—Patron, Mr G. Humphries; president, Mr T. Newburgh; vice-presi-dent, Mr H. C. Jameson; treasurer, Mr A E. Matthews; secretary, Mr J. Clarke (re-elected); delegate to Centre, Mr G. W. Smithson (re-elected); delegate to Sports Association, Mr T. Newburgh (re-elected); auditor, Mr F. Cother; committee, Messrs J. F. Menzies, J. H. Thomas, .H. H. Barlow, E. A. Johnson, T. Chambers, H. Barlow and H. J. Williams; mid-week committee. Messrs J. A. Clarke, H. Stbnenmn and J. Caesar; match committee, Messrs J. A. Clarke, H. Stoneman and J. Caesar: selection committee, Messrs .T. F. Menzies, T. Chambers and F. Edwards. It was left to the General Committee to appoint a house committee. The following motion was adopted:— " That the club members be classified In accordance with their qualifications, and for the purpose of selecting rinks for competition in the club championship that the players be selected bv the selectors, by ballot, having due regard to their individual classification.” With reference to the mid-week games, several members spoke of the manner in which the teams were posted on the chart. The matter was left in the hands of the Mid-week Committee to deal with.
