ON WITH THE SHOW ” IS SPECTACULAR TALKIE.

The spectacular talking picture, “On With the Show,” which heads the programme at the New Opera House, is a worthy successor of the “Gold Diggers of Broadway,” which it, iu some instances, outdoes in gorgeousness of scenery. Betty Compson is seen in the lead. Prominent parts are taken by Sam Hardy and Sally O’Neill. Other notable players in the picture include Louiso Fazenda, the lady with the phenomenal laugh, William Bakewell, the dainty Fairbank twin sisters, and Ethel Waters, the leading member of a talented quartette of coloured singers and dancers. The whole production is photographed in colour and the effect In several of the scenes is wonderful. The supporting pictures include several songs excellently rendered by Chief Caupolican, the North American Indian baritone; comedy songs by Frank Crumit; Abe Lyman’s orchestra; and a clever comedy sketch, “In the Parle,” by Brown and Whittaker, a vaudeville partnership.
