MAY DAY PARTY HELD AT LYTTELTON.

PLUNKET SOCIETY GIVE DANCE FOR CHILDREN.

The committee of the Lyttelton Branch of the Plunket Society will have no reason to regret their work in arranging for this year’s May Day party, which was held on Saturday afternoon in the Excelsior Hall. Tho majority of the children were dressed in fancy costumes, which, in many instances, were artistic and original. Others were comical, and created much amusement amongst the .youngsters. The decorations of the hall were in keeping with the pleasing shades of the fancy costumes. The judges selected Josephine Hay as the May Queen. The Queen was attended by five little maids of honour. The crowning ceremony was well staged, especially the dancing portion of the proceedings.
