“THE RAINBOW MAN” IS A COLOURFUL PICTURE.
Singing is a feature of “The Rainbow Man.” now being screened at Crystal Palace. but by no means the only feature. To mention one of these. Mr Eddie Dowling, taking the leading part, gives this talkie a good position in the world of comedy and of romance. Behind the songs, laughter and plot there is a vivid picture of humble life in a small town and of life in a company of strolling players. The struggles and trials of a young minstrel in his rise to fame are told in words and on the screen. The supports cover a wide range, from short speeches by European men of mark to scenes at the court of the boy Sultan of Morocco, in pagan pomp and glitter, Ashing with torches by night in Hawaii, and stunts at ice-sports. “The Moon Bride’s Wedding” la a sketch of the romance of the Red Indians’ lives. “Scrappily Married” is a comedy.
