OPIUM RUNNER ON HIGH SEAS.

LEAGUE COUNCIL SEEKS TO HOLD UP VESSEL.

(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received May 15, 11.30 a.m.) GENEVA, May 14. Somewhere on the high seas there is a vessel laden with 2300 cases or opium, according to information Mr Arthur Henderson supplied to the League Council. The cargo represents £250,000 worth of raw opium, sufficient to poison all on the Continent. The ship left Bushire for Yladivostock and has since disappeared. The League Opium Committee is trying to prevent it from reaching its destination, which probably is China.
