A New Plymouth Press Association message says that Mervyn Evans, a High School boy, aged fourteen, was crawling through a hedge when a broken bottle pierced his lung. He was taken to hospital, where his condition is reported to be satisfactory.

Broadhead, Simeon Street, the occasion being a “cabin evening” and farewell party to Mr and Mrs Broadhead, Maxwell Street, Riccarton, who are leaving on Thursday for Sydnev. where Mrs Broadhead will connect with the Jervois Bay, en route for England and France. The various competitions were won by Miss E. Broadhead, Mr A. Shearman and Mr E. Timms. Other* present were Mesdames Entwhistle, Gritton, Mesa and Timms, Miss B. Broadhead, Lewis, Davidson, Gritton, Rodmell and Lucas, Messrs J. Broadhead. Entwhistle, Mesa, Warren, Page and French.
