TRUCK SHORTAGE IS CAUSE OF PORT DELAY

“ Delays to shipping were caused through two hours of rain and a shortage of trucks on three days,” said the harbourmaster, Captain T. M. Hunter, in his report to the Lyttelton Harbour Board for the month of March, to-day. The report added that there w r as no shortage of labour, as plenty of nonunionists were available. The chairman (Mr H. Holland, M.P.) said that something would have to be done to get the Railway Department to give the required rolling stock for work at the port.
